eHome: Application Package 2: Video Outdoor Phone + 10" Hallway Touch Panel Phone + 4.3” Indoor Desktop Phone + Multi-function Control Box (without 3G module)

The demand for a safer and more convenient home environment and innovative service is getting higher.  However, the products in the existing market can only provide individual solutions, such as Video-Phone Systems, Telephone Systems, Surveillance Systems, VoIP and Energy Control Systems.  Therefore, Tecom makes use of his experience in convergence technology and develops the “Tecom e-Home Communication System”.  By the self-developed system hardware platform and integration of software technology, Tecom puts 7 systems : the Video-Phone System, Access Control Systems, Telephone Systems, Smart Appliance Control Systems, Digital Video Surveillance Systems, Network Service Systems and 3G Mobile into ONE System.

The distinctive features of “Tecom e-Home Communication System” are:
1: Phones can view the real-time scenes from different cameras individually.
2: When an emergency event is detected, the event scene will be displayed on the Phones with alarm warning and the 3G Mobile.
3: The scene from the Outdoor Phone or equipped Cameras can be monitored by 3G Mobile or through Internet.
4: Visitors’ image will be stored & displayed on all the Video Phones when Call button is pressed.  Besides, the call can be forwarded to 3G Mobile
5: The Video Phone can access Smart Appliances Control.
6: Easy Installation.  Just a wire pair will transmit the image, voice, control signals & DC power from System Unit to Terminal.

Besides the original Phone System Sales distributors, Tecom can also develop new distributors, such as System Integrators, Interior Designers and Security Service Providers to increase new business by this new product.  Furthermore, Tecom is planning to expand the application to the Community System Integration and also integrate with New Building Contractors to increase the sales volume.

How it Works

When the Video Outdoor Phone door bell button is pressed, it automatically takes 5 photos of 1 second intervals of the visitor. These photos are saved on a SD Card installed in the 4.3" Video Indoor Desktop Phone for the home owner to view. This becomes particularly useful as a log record of visitors to the house when the home owner has been out all day. Furthermore, the Video Outdoor Phone broadcasts a real-time video of the visitor to the 4.3" Video Indoor Desktop Phone. The duration of the video streaming is customizable from 10 to 120 seconds. The home owner, if in the house, can view the live video of the visitor and can communicate directly to the visitor through the 4.3" Video Indoor Phone before unlocking the electronic door lock via the # key to greet the visitor. The Multi-function Control Box provides a set of connections to PSTN Central Office line via an FXO interface. This enables the house owner to facilitate the provision of telephone system features. It also provides a set of FXS interfaces that can detect wireless handsets. In addition, the Multi-function Control Box provides a set of LAN ports for network linkup with remote settings, allowing the home owner to remotely dial-in to check and review the visitor record.

Note: the installation architecture of the eHome system uses dual wiring with no-polarity connections throughout the whole system with short circuit protection. This single bi-wire can simultaneously transmit voice, data, images, control commands and DC power for easy installation and maintenance.
