With WiMAX, Tecom Enters All Walks of Family, Personal and Multimedia Lifestyles!

ECOM will showcase its latest WiMAX products and services together with Intel and VMAX Telecom

WiMAX Expo Taipei 2009 will kick off on 2nd June at the Taipei World Trade Center. For this exhibition, TECOM will showcase its latest WiMAX products and services together with Intel and VMAX Telecom, displaying the various personal, family and multimedia lifestyles of the 21st century. WiMAX will transform our personal and professional lives as data and visual transmission will be made possible via this high-speed wireless broadband technology. TECOM will also exhibit its unique WiMAX Web Camera which will enable home owners to receive visuals of their houses and the neighborhoods via remote IP cameras and WiMAX. They can use their PC or MID to receive those visuals and elevate security surveillance efficiency.

At the exhibition, TECOM will also roll out its latest series of WiMAX application products, other than the vertical home-use Indoor Modem and IAD, TECOM will also display its 2009 WiMAX MID, WiMAX NetBook and WiMAX IP Camera.

Together with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taipei Computer Association and Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation, TECOM had been a key and enthusiastic partner in the project to enable passengers to access the Internet via WiMAX technology in MRT carriages in Taipei. Completed May 2009, WiMAX and Wi-Fi technologies are available on train carriages along the Muzha Line for wireless internet access, video transmission and receiving. For this exhibition, TECOM and VMAX Telecom will enable exhibition VIPs to experience the true WiMAX high-speed internet experience for themselves, TECOM will provide the necessary USB dongles. VIPs can access Google Street View and on-line Gaming Websites and experience just how WiMAX technology is capable of supporting Triple-play (voice, data, video) media applications.

After years of industry development and cultivation, TECOM is finally seeing its results this year, in the later part of 2009; global WiMAX service operators will roll out their deployments. This will lead to a huge leap in demand for WiMAX base stations and CPE, TECOM will be one of the manufacturers to benefit from this boom. Other than being the selected manufacturer of WiMAX equipment for RRH, TECOM will extend its WiMAX device product line to entire base stations, making it the only ODM WiMAX manufacturer in Taiwan with the necessary experience and capacity.

As for CPE ODM manufacturing, TECOM has received various interoperability licenses for many WiMAX Base Stations. Other than providing VMAX Telecom with the necessary equipment for the latter’s north Taiwan WiMAX network such as consumer-end CPE. TECOM has also received order lists for actual deployment and trial networks with various well-known WiMAX service operators in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Middle East and Brazil.
